While Adams' performance is commonly focused on, Brad Lander's win in NYC tends to be forgotten, one of the most left leaning politicians in NYC, his victory - and Overperformance from Adams Numbers - Presents a tangible, and symbolic victory for the Left in NYC.
Relative to Adams, Lander did best in the Progressive areas of Northwest Brooklin and East Queens, the White working class areas of Staten Island, Northern Queens, and southern Brooklyn, and the asian areas of North east Queens and southern Brooklin.
In addition, He held close to Adam's numbers in the African American parts of the city, with a small, but not miniscule difference between the candidates in the hispanic portions of North Manhatthan and the Bronx, and noticibly large Delta in the hispanic areas of Brooklyn
However, Adams did perform Well in the Upscale 73rd Assembly District, which leads me to believe that the Over/Underperformances were influenced by Down ballot Lag.
But, the extent, and the wide ranging Nature also Suggests that Lander was also simply a stronger Candidate than Adams
