the 2012-2020 Swing between Presidential elections in Pennsylvania clearly highlights the underlying trends that have gone on in the states between Obama's second election, and Biden's first election
Here, we see that Biden gained Ground throughout the state's high-end suburbs, such as the ones in Allegheny, Butler. Lancaster, the Lehigh Valley, York, Centre, Chester Montgomery, Delaware, and Middle/upper Bucks
whilst losing ground throughout both the White working class and Hispanics, such as in Philadelphia, Lower Bucks. Western Pennsylvania, the Mon Valley, Northeast Pennsylvania, Northeast Phildaelphia, the southwest, and most of the rest of the state, Allentown and Reading,
the end result was a swing to the right of 4.2% between election as the Working class in PA make up a larger share of the swing right than Suburban Pennsylvania, and while Democrats have had some great nights in PA between 2021 & 2024, the swing acts as an important note for Pennsylvania campaigns.
