Admist the Complete Collapse for Dememocrats that encompased Election night 2021, two results stand out from the rest due to being significantly lesse bad than the rest, one was Dems gaining a seat on the PA Commonwealth court, and the second was holding the PA SC Seat up in 2021 to a 0.9% loss.
A hold for Republicans, Kevin Brobson won the seat held by retiring assosiate justice and former chief justice of the PA Supreme Court Thomas Saylor.
Furthermore, this election was one, due to its downballot nature, where the down ballot leans of the counties showed up, with Democrats outperforming their presidential baseline in the rurals and the GOP in the suburbs respectively.
However, what cost Maria McLaughlin this Supreme court seat in the end was relatively bad turnout in Philadelphia, with the city comprising ~3% less votes in the Supreme court race than in the presidential race one year prior.
