World Book Day 2026 Podcast
This year’s World Book Day continues to centre on reading for pleasure, encouraging children to choose books they genuinely enjoy.
Working collaboratively, the children in Year 6 created a special edition of the Cwmlai Podcast celebrating how reading is a gift, sharing their experiences of live lessons, the importance of reading, and how World Book Day is enjoyed here in Cwmlai and around the world.

Creating a class E-book!
The children in Years 3 to 6 created their own e‑books using Gemini, each one inspired by and written for a younger class in the school. On World Book Day, we all came together as the older pupils visited their chosen classes to read their e‑books aloud. It was a wonderful celebration of creativity, collaboration, and reading, and the younger children absolutely loved hearing stories made especially for them.
