Sequencing the story of Branwen using a story map

We listened to the legend of Branwen and given the task of sequencing the story - there was a lot of information to remember.

LNF - Problem solving in groups

From listening to the legend of Branwen, we worked in groups to solve a number of numeracy  problems relating to the story.

LNF/DCF Comparing climates

We looked at the temperature in Wales and compared it to a place we were interested in and decided it would be Florida in the USA. We used Google sheets to construct a graph.

The final version

Lastly we edited and wrote our final version using Google Docs

Beneath Your Feet

"Beneath Your Feet" by Meadow Cook

"At first I found this work quite difficult as I did not know what I was going to write about. But I soon got used to it and it became fun!The whole writing  journey was very long, but I  am really proud of my work and it being on display in the classroom. It is the most I have ever written."

The great disaster

"The Great Disaster" by Deian Morgan

"This whole story just came to me and my last name is Morgan so my main character is called Morgan.  I found writing  my story easier that I thought because I don't normally like writing but I enjoyed writing this! My story was read to the Deputy Head Teacher and read aloud to the whole class and shared with the Welsh Heritage Judges."

DCF - Collaborative websites

As a year group we colloborated to produce our own websites on "Cynefin Cwmlai". We loved working together and are very proud of the work completed.  We used so many skills such as adding attachments and hyperlinks, independent research, creating and sharing hyperlinks and uploading files from a local drive to name just a few! Please find below some examples of our websites.

End of topic assessment questions

We used Google docs on Google Classroom to answer a variety of questions to end our topic.
