As part of our new year celebrations, we thought it was important to learn about the old New Year traditions in Wales. We discussed the differences in how the new year customs and traditions has changed over the years.
This term we were fortunate to have recorder lessons. Miss Waters taught us how to read simple music notes, as well as how to play them on the recorder. We were able to play a simple tune!
As part of our St David's Day activities we wrote poems about Wales entitled 'A Recipe for Wales'.
During welsh week we read the story of 'Guto Nyth Bran', the welsh ledgend who ran from Porth to Pontrypridd and back before the kettle boiled.
We created story maps and practised the sentence pattern 'Roedd e'n'. The children enjoyed using welsh adjectives to express their opinions.
In celebration of Mother's Day we used our knwoledge of welsh adjectives to create a poem describing our wonderful Mums!
What do you want to achieve in the next 50 years? What ambitions do you have?
