WRU PRIMARY SCHOOL DISPLAY COMPETITION
When carrying out our research around 'Wales at the World Cup' one of the children in the class came across a competition that was being run by the Welsh Rugby Union. Both year 6 classes decided to enter and began planning and creating a World Cup display made from recycled materials (see below). Cwmlai's entry made it through to the final three where the winner would then be decided by a public vote on the social media platform 'X'.
The voting was unanimous and Cwmlai's entry was selected as the winner by the public. The children each received a ticket to watch Wales v Barbarians at the Principality Stadium along with a Welsh rugby shirt signed by the 2023 World Cup squad. The signed shirt was presented to the children in a special assembly by a member of the World Cup squad, Corey Domachowski. The children also had a fantastic day at the Principality stadium.

In assembly, they listened to the anti-bullying alliance, who shared, "We are stronger as a team if we stand up to bullying, so make some noise." In class, the children carried out their own independent research around bullying and presented their research in a variety of ways in their books.
