 Summer term

We looked at data on rollercoasters from all over the world and answered lots of numeracy based questions.

We read the book "Y Ffair" and sequenced the story using a story map.

We practiced reading the story out loud. Have a look and listen to Lois read "Y Ffair"......she recieved a sticker from the Headteacher and Deputy Head Teacher...

As part of pupil voice, we decided we wanted to create our own theme park. We began with looking at logos of theme parks around the world and then had a go at designing our own logo using Adobe Express...have a look at our designs - we are very pleased with them!

Coordinates - we used our prior knowledge of coordinates to complete work on choosing a plot of land...

ADVERTS - as part of Pupil Voice we decided we wanted to design our own poster to advertise our theme park. We started with looking at the features of advertising and how we could improve an advert. We completed self and peer assessment!

Next we designed our own adverts and self assessed our work against the What Makes This Good "WMTG". We are very proud of the finished results!

Data analysis - as part of our Pupil voice, we wanted to compare and contrast different theme parks in the UK. We were given 10 theme parks to look at and we found retrieving information on each theme park to be quite challenging. Information on pricing was particularly challenging as there were so many options!

Design our own theme park - we had a go at designing our own theme park. We had rules to follow such as every ride, amenity or attraction had to be paved at a cost of £500 per ride. Designing was fun but the "building a budget" exercise was quite challenging!

We wrote a poem all about our experience on a rollercoaster and looked at similes, calligrams, onomatopoeia's and using ambitious vocabulary
