Cardiff City EFL tournament
The children worked with the ABC of Opera and the Welsh National Opera Orchestra to record a song to celebrate Saint David's Day. The aim was to unite Primary Schools from all across Wales in a harmonious celebration.
To mark 'Children's Mental Health Week', the children in year 6 worked closely with 2 Wish Cymru to discuss mental health and the importance of acknowledging our feelings, sharing our problems and not bearing the burden alone.
After the work with 2 Wish, Year 6 identified worries and developed strategies for dealing with these.
The children continued to work on their designs for Worry Monsters, and transformed these into products.
We celebrated St David's Day in Year 6, and throughout the school, with Welsh Workshops, which provided the children with hands-on experience of the culture of Wales.
After topping the group during the qualifying stages the year 6 football team progressed through to the 'RCT Finals day' to compete against the other winners from the group stages. The children played some fantastic football throughout the day and narrowly missed out on going through to the quarter-finals.
Year 6 visited Parc Stormy, Renewable Energy Centre in Bridgend. We were given some valuable lessons to develop ethical intelligence. The children learnt about renewable energy and biodiversity in a fun, interesting and engaging way.
The children in year 6 visited PGL along with children from the other cluster schools as part of the transition process. This residential trip gave the children the opportunity to make new friends, try out new activities and to build confidence and resilience, in a supportive, team environment. The growth in confidence was clear to see.

To complete the Spring term, Year 6 were given the opportunity to travel to Zel am See, Austria. During the trip, they developed their independence, skiing ability and social skills. Whilst there the children received 3 days of expert tuition on the slopes, took part in Austrian dancing,
