The children had a visit from a Chameleon. We discussed what he looked and felt like. We learnt about his diet and habits. The children wrote a sentence about the Chameleon.
The Animal Encounter experience was amazing. The children met and handled different exotic creatures. They held some of them and learnt facts about them. They each chose their favourite to write a few facts about and to draw the animal.
The children were particularly intrigued by the snake so we found out more facts about him. We looked at the life cycle of the snake and the children had a go at drawing and labelling this.
We looked at the Bee as it was National Bee Week. We labelled the different parts of the bee's body. We discussed the importance of the parts of the bee. We tasted some honey that was produced on Miss Ayres farm.
We read the story of Jasper's Beanstalk. We sequenced the story. We learnt the days of the week. We planted our own seeds. We ordered beanstalks from smallest to biggest. We measured beanstalks using cubes.
