LNF/DCF Autumn 2023 REC

The children shared the reading of a newspaper article about a star falling out of the sky.  They found the star in the nature area and were concerned about him.  They wrote wishes on their own stars such as go back to the sky, shine on me, make the star happy.

Following the explosion in the nature area the pupils wrote about what they thought had happened.

Some felt the star had fallen out of the sky and some thoght he was hiding.

We sang the rhyme twinkle, twinkle over and over again.  The pupils were encouraged to sequence the rhyme.

We discussed day and night time routines.  The pupils were asked to draw something they did in the day such as play with their friends or go to school and something they did at night such as bath time and bed time.

Owl babies

Following on from the visit from the Owl Sanctaury we shared the reading of the Owl babies story.  The pupils were asked to create their own story maps from the story.

We discussed facts the pupils had learnt from the Owl visit.  The pupils wrote a fact sheet about their favourite owl.

We used Hwb and  JIT5 to practise programming our rockets to reach outer space and the planets, to launch the star back up into the sky

The 'Wales on Sunday' newspaper asked  that  if anyone had information on the explosion,  to send them a report.

Beauden drew a map of our nature area to show where the explosion had happened.
