The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch

Throughout the autumn term we based our learning in literacy around the book - The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch.  We began by reading the story during our BOOST sessions,  picking out some 'hot' words to research their meanings and in turn, used these words in our writing.  We discussed the story and retold it many times in small groups using Pie Corbett's Talk For Writing.  The children created their own story maps and re-ordered the story as well as attempting to re-write it themselves.
