What Makes a Hero?

The children defined the word "hero" and decided that superheroes came in all areas of life. Many children recognised that Superheroes can be members of the local Community and members of the family. One of the children recognised members of the circus as his Superheroes and another included Scientists as Superheroes.

The children defined and collected examples of heroes.

They described the qualities Superheroes possess.

Each class gave their input as to what they wanted to learn during the topic.

The children gave examples of their Superheroes, some famous and others, family mambers.

The way things move.

The Circus Workshop inspired the children to think about the different ways things move. They discussed Push, Pull, Turn, Twist and collected examples.

They children then watched  a BBC Bitesize clip about magnets and the movement these make. They predicted which materials were magnetic and which were not they then tested and collected their results.
