As a group we worked together to solve what Tudor Kings, Queens and Wives would be as prices of stamps.
Sienna worked as group at first, but then worked on her own on the more challenging ones - well done Sienna!
Sonnets can be quite difficult to understand but we are already understanding a lot more by looking at the opening of "Romeo and Juliet" by working together as a group and exploring the language. We can now even talk about what we think are the rules for a Sonnet!
A list of characters from Romeo and Juliet were given out and we had to sort them into Capulets, Montagues or neither.
From our love of the balcony scene and with our genre this term being Newspaper reports, we decided to write a report on the baclony scene with two, mortal enemies falling in love.
First, we studied Newspaper to determine the main features of a report.
We colour coded each feature to make them easier to identify
Next, we looked at headlines and had lots of fun making our own!
We studied the 5 W's of Who? What? Why? Where? When? We used the scenario of the fire alarm test in school.
Dosbarth Gwyn wrote their report in their books and edited it
We wanted to use Adobe Express to enhance our digital competency skills. It was quite a challenge for some to navigate the template and as a result some forgot the correct layout of a newspaper. However with perserverance we got there in the end! I am so proud of you all Dosbarth Gwyn!

What an amazing time we had learning how to code using Scratch and Raspberry Pi. Not only that we had the chance to learn about Japanese culture too!
Watch this video to see how we coded using Scratch and Raspberry PI to make bulbs flash and light up in a sequence. We were pretty impressed with ourselves!
We had the opportunity to really showcase our ICT skills by using Google Slides to compile a presentation on the city of Verona.
We worked as a group to investigate the number of lines that can be used to join a different number of dots.
We started with 3 dots, then 4, 5 and 6 dots.
Sienna was then able to explain the rest of the class the reasoning for the answers.
"I felt so proud to be the only girl to volunteer. The work was challenging at first, but when we got to more dots I could see a bit of a pattern of drawing the regular polygons and the answers then became a bit easier." Sienna
We wrote wedding vows between Romeo and Juliet.
Meadow - "At the beginning of this work I had no idea what to write but I'm glad I wrote what I did. To begin with I didn't know how to use Shakespearean language in it but I've learned a lot more and had the confidence to use it in my wedding vows. I'm very happy with my work!"
Jazmine -
Alfie - "I am so proud of my work and the fact that it was shown to Mrs Scott too!"
We had a list of substances and had to first of all predict what we thought would dissolve (soluble) and not dissolve (insoluble). These were -
washing up liquid
coffee
jam
sugar
cooking oil
salt
chalk
milk
olive oil
This was followed by placing the substances in water to check our predictions.
As a group we worked together to find the Roman Numerals for various dates for the Kings and Queens of the Tudor period.
Listen to our squeals of delight when we find out that the balloon inflates!
