Our Community Group 2023/2024

First Meeting 15/10/23

In our first meeting we appointed our Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer.

Chairman - Aaron Hughes

Secretary - Ben Rogers

Treasurer - Kian Ruck

We also joined the new 'Community Google Classroom' and discussed what we want to achieve this year.

Some ideas:

Make Christmas cards for our local Nursing home.
To have a Toy Swap day in school.
Cwmlai Bake Off.
Make posters for local food bank.

Second Meeting 15/11/23

During our second meeting we:

Designed a 'Toy Swap' poster to share with our parents on our School Dojo.

Created some posters asking the classes in Cwmlai to make a Christmas card for us to take to the Nursing home in December.

Cwmlai Toy Swap 26/11/23

I am delighted to share that the children at Cwmlai thoroughly enjoyed hosting the toy swap event. Each child participated with enthusiasm, resulting in every participant going home with a new toy.

This initiative not only brought joy to the children but also promoted the values of sharing and recycling. It was heartening to witness the children actively engaging in sustainable practices while having fun. The toy swap was truly a success.

Visit to Ty Eirin Care Home

Our Community Group decided they wanted to set the school a challenge to make a class Christmas card for our local care home.

I took some children to deliver the cards and some festive treats. We had a lovely time with the residents of Ty Eirin care home.

Our wonderful Cwmlai children are always thinking of others.
