On Friday 31st January, we wore red to raise money and awareness for Velindre. As a school this is a charity close to our hearts that has supported many families in our community. We raised an amazing £500.
For World Maths Day, we were invited to wear a number and took part in lots of number-related activities throughout the day.
For World Book Day 2025, we were invited to dress as characters from our favourite books. The costumes were fantastic, showcasing incredible creativity! Throughout the day, we enjoyed lots of fun and engaging activities, making it a truly inspiring celebration that deepened our love for reading.
We joined the Year 3 children, who kindly shared a story with us. It was a wonderful experience as we asked and answered lots of questions, making the story even more engaging and interactive.
We were fortunate to receive a visit from local author Megan Mattravers, who shared one of her wonderful stories with us. We had the opportunity to ask plenty of questions about life as an author, inspiring us to become confident readers and writers.
We had a wonderful afternoon celebrating our school Eisteddfod. The children performed recitals, showcased their artwork inspired by Jodie Neale, and presented their Welsh home projects. We also enjoyed singing traditional Welsh songs and folk dancing, making it a truly special celebration of Welsh culture.
Balanceability – A Fun Way to Build Confidence and Cycling Skills!
We were fortunate enough to have a visit from the Balanceability program which provided a fantastic opportunity for the children to develop confidence and essential cycling skills. Through engaging listening games, balance exercises, and skill-building activities, They had an exciting time learning to ride balance bikes and had lots of fun! 🚲
This year, to mark Comic Relief, the children were invited to express their individuality and happiness by wearing something that makes them happy. From colourful costumes and cozy pyjamas to superhero capes and favourite footballers, the day was filled with smiles. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate self-expression and positivity while supporting a great cause.
The children were just like Ethical Efan. Confident and proud of their Welsh identity, yet equally aware of their place as global citizens. Like Ethical Efan, they demonstrated a strong sense of belonging, rooted in their culture and community, while also showing curiosity and knowledge about the wider world around them, celebrating their heritage.
As creative Cariads, we created our very own Easter bonnets at home. With big smiles and even bigger hats, we proudly paraded around the school, showing off our unique creations to friends and teachers. The fun didn’t stop there, back in the classroom, we took part in an exciting Easter hunt, searching high and low for hidden treasures. We also enjoyed melting chocolate and making delicious easter nests.
We are often creative cariad's thinking creatively, helping each other and working as a team. In our enhanced areas we explore the resources in the construction area working together to create new worlds.
