Celebration Assembly Certificates
It was decided by all teaching staff that the weekly celebration assembly should undergo a revamp. It was agreed that the new certificates should incorporate the school's four characters and the recipients should demonstrate the qualities of the four purposes. The year 6 children worked collaboratively in the IT lessons to redesign the certificates that would be given out on a Friday.
Race Against Hate
During the Autumn term, the children in years 5 & 6 took part in the 'Race Against Hate', a cross-country event organised by South Wales Police.
The aim of the day was to promote equality, diversity, and inclusion within our communities and reinforce the message that there is no place for hate within society.
URDD Mixed Football Tournament - 3/10/2024
The year 6 football team entered the URDD Regional football tournament. The team went unbeaten throughout the tournament and were victorious in the final after beating a strong Garth Olwg team 2-1. The team will now represent the region in the national finals day, which will be held in Aberystwyth on May 10th, 2025.

Rhondda Schools Rugby Tournament
The year 6 rugby team competed against local schools in the Rhondda Schools rugby tournament.
WW2 Workshop
Year 6 consolidated their learning of the meaning of conflict and its dramatic effects upon nations, during our World War 2 Workshop run by Gweithdy Rhyfel Byd Cymru.
Christmas 1914
We ended our topic by putting on a production of 'Christmas 1914' for our parents, grandparents and carers.
