Why do we have Castles in Wales?

A Real Life Knight Came to Visit us!

The children received a phone call in class. They were told that someone very important was waiting for us upstairs? Who could it be?

Joe the Knight told us that a terrible storm had blown his castle down. He was really sad and wanted to know if Nursery knew anything about castles? Could we think of a way to help him?

We helped the knight to rebuild his castle

The boxes were very big so we had to work in a team

Joe the Knight's flags had blown off his castle, we helped him to put them back on

Joe told us that these were his heraldry. Passers by would know which family lived in the castle by the colour and design of the flags

The knight explained what a draw bridge was and why it was used

The knight told us he would lower the drawbridge for friends, but raise it for enemies!

A knight and Noble Lord came on horseback, the knight lowered the drawbridge

A king and his Noble knight launched a ferocious attack! The knight quickly raised the drawbridge!

We told the knight that we were all his friends so he lowered the drawbridge and let us in!

We had to jump over the Moat, we didn't want to get our feet wet!

Joe told us that he was a Welsh knight and that he lived in Wales just like us. He asked us if we could make some Welsh flags to decorate his castle so that everyone would know that he was knight from Wales.
