CAM: Order significant global conflicts on a timeline
We worked collaboratively to research and find out about significant global conflicts.
We began by matching the conflict to the year and then the summary of the conflict.
When we had correctly matched all of the conflicts, we organised them on a timeline.
Each group researched the history of conflict and orgaised them in chronological order. The groups divided the workload and thought about ways of presenting the information in interesting and engaging ways.
They organised ways of presenting. The results were clear, professional and informative.
Life in the Trenches
During our work on World War 1, we focused on life in the trenches. The children demonstrated their understanding of the trenches and trench warfare by writing a letter home to a loved one.
We also used Seesaw to annotate an image of a trench, labelling and describing the different parts.
Year 6 researched experiences had by millions of evacuees at this time and created informative double page spreads.
World War 2
Anderson Shelters
Research was carried out in order to find out the purpose, measurements and appearance of the Anderson Shelter. The design brief was to create a design and model to scale. Groups were chosen, and designs were made.
Teams set to work using the resources they mostly resourced from home.
Each member of the team was delegated roles, and the workload was carefully divided by the group.
The design plans were carefully worked from.
Each team worked effectively, and there was a shared goal throughout the room, the completion of the shelter and the transformation from detailed plan to product.
The teams were asked to work out a scale showing the dimensions of a standard Anderson Shelter.
Final Products
Each team demonstrated excellent teamwork skills and the final products were amazing.
The detail and thought, along with the accuracy of research was common among all the groups.
From their mouths...
Following research on World War 2 leaders, Dosbarth Efydd assessed the characteristics of the men and their ability to lead their Nation.
Next they wrote motivational speeches and performed these on Chatterpix.
