Harvest
We celebrated the Harvest Festival with a school assembly and talked about the importance of Harvest. We were then lucky enough to share some freshly baked bread.
As a whole school, we decided to celebrate International Languages Day by focusing on the French language. Everyone came to school dressed in red, white, and blue, and we took part in French-themed activities throughout the day. We were even lucky enough to sample some delicious French food!

What happened to our classroom?
We asked questions and used our imaginations to come up with different ideas. Working as a team, we gathered the dots and used them to create pictures.
Outdoor learning
During this activity, our aim was to be just like 'Ethical Efan' by collaborating as a team, offering support to each other, and valuing everyone's ideas.
We celebrated World Mental Health Day by wearing something yellow to show our support. The whole school focus this year was on kindness, encouraging us to explore ways to improve mental well-being. We learnt a song all about our feelings and talked about how being kind makes us and others feel.
To support Show Racism the Red Card, as a schooll we wroe red. As part of our learning, we explored the story of Elmer the Patchwork Elephant, a story that teaches the importance of individuality and acceptance. Through discussions and activities, we reflected on how our differences make us unique and how embracing diversity fosters kindness and inclusion in our community.
As part of our topic we are looking at celebrations around the world, we had a lively class discussion about what makes a celebration. The children came up with fantastic ideas and had fun discovering clues to guide their thinking. Their enthusiasm shone through as they shared different experiences. In the coming weeks, we will explore these celebrations in more detail, deepening our understanding of how people around the world mark special occasions in unique and meaningful ways.
Halloween
The children had a great time coming to school dressed in their Halloween costumes. We played "Pass the Pumpkin," decorated the classroom and enjoyed haloween themed creative activities. We also read Halloween-themed stories, and discussed the different ways people celebrate.
Bonfire night
We discussed how to stay safe during bonfire night and celebrations. We also melted chocolate to make delicious chocolate sparklers.
Remembrance day
We talked about the importance of Remembrance Day and ways to honour the brave people. We painted poppies to show respect and wrote poems using similes.
We explored the meaning of Diwali and learned how Hindus celebrate this festival. As part of our activities, we created beautiful rangoli patterns and followed step-by-step instructions to craft our own diva lamps. Later, we wrote our own instructions using imperative verbs.
As part of Anti-Bullying Week, we celebrated Odd Socks Day by wearing odd socks to school to symbolise that everyone is unique yet equal. We had meaningful discussions about differences and bullying, and we read the story of Elmer, a colourful elephant who teaches the importance of embracing diversity. The children then showcased their creativity by designing their own unique elephants.
For this year’s Children in Need event, we were encouraged to wear something spotty to school, adding a fun and colorful touch to the day. We had a thoughtful discussion about how we can help others and explored where the donations from children and their families go, highlighting the impact of their generosity. The children took part in lots of fun activites throughout the day.
This year’s concert focused on the excitement and preparation leading up toChristmas. We had a fantastic time performing for our families, spreading festive cheer with everyone. The countdown to Christmas was a countdown to joy and fun!
