Buddha advises:

‘O bhikshus and wise men,

just as a goldsmith would test his gold

by burning, cutting and rubbing it,

so must you examine my words

and accept them

but not merely out of

reverence for me.’

佛陀忠告:

‘喔, 比丘和智慧的人們,

就像一個金匠必須以燃燒,

切割, 磨搓來鍛鍊他的金塊,

你必須要驗證我的話之後,

才能接受它們,

不能只基於對我的崇敬

就接受我的話.’
