If you go more deeply into your own
spiritual practice, emphasizing wisdom
and compassion, you will encounter the
suffering of other sentient beings again
and again, and you will have the
capacity to acknowledge it, respond to
it, and feel deep compassion rather
than apathy or impotence. When
contemplating suffering, do not fall into
the feeling of self-importance or conceit.
Cultivating wisdom helps us to avoid
these pitfalls. But it is hard to
generalize because each person’s
courage and forbearance are unique.
若你以智慧與慈悲為重點,
在心靈修持上漸漸深入,
你將會不斷的遇到其他
有覺知的生命所遭遇的痛苦,
你將有能力感知它, 回應它,
也能具有深深的慈悲心, 不再冷漠無力.
在仔細思索體認這些痛苦的時候,
不要落入高傲自負的感覺中.
