When we take the Buddha as an

authority, as a reliable teacher, we do

so on the basis of having investigated

and examined his principal teaching,

the Four Noble Truths. It is after

having investigated the validity and

reliability of this doctrine that we

accept the Buddha, who propounded it,

as a reliable teacher.

當我們把佛陀尊為權威,

一個可以信賴的老師,

我們是研究也驗證過

他最重要的教導, 四聖諦,

才建立了這麼做的基礎.

在研判過這個教誨的效力

與可靠程度後我們接受了佛陀,

宣揚這個法的人,

是一個值得信賴的老師.
