It is not enough to be compassionate.
You must act. There are two aspects to
action. One is to overcome the
distortions and afflictions of your own
mind, that is, in terms of calming and
eventually dispelling anger. This is
action out of compassion. The other is
more social, more public. When
something needs to be done in the world
to rectify the wrongs, if one is really
concerned with benefiting others, one
needs to be engaged, involved.
只有同情心是不夠的. 你必須身體力行.
行動本身分為內外兩個方向.
先要能克服自己心中對事物的扭曲認知與痛苦,
讓自己平靜且終能消除怨懟.
這是慈悲關懷的行為表現.
再則是進入社會, 公益性的行動.
因為當某件事必須要被完成,
才能修正人類曾犯下的某個錯誤時,
一個真心關注為眾人謀福祉的人,
就得實際參與, 採取行動.
