The guru, the spiritual teacher,

is responsible for his or her

improper behavour. It is the student’s

responsibility not to be drawn into it.

The blame is on both. Partly it is

because the student is too obedient

and devoted to the spiritual master,

a kind of blind acceptance of that

person’s guidance. This always spoils

the person. But of course part of

the blame lies with the spiritual

master, because he lacks the integrity

that is necessary to be immune

to that kind of vulnerability.

上師, 心靈成長的導師,

須對於自己不當的行為負責.

而學生也有責任不被這些不當行為吸引影響.

雙方都有責任. 在某種程度上,

學生對於心靈上師過度的順從和奉獻,

會流於盲從. 反而糟蹋了這個人.

另方面, 心靈上師當然也有責任,

因為他缺乏所需的正直免疫力

來對抗那種弱點.
