Regardless of race, creed, ideology,
political bloc (East and West), or
economic region (North and South), the
most important and basic aspect of all
people is their shared humanity – the
fact that each person, old, young, rich,
poor, educated, uneducated, male or
female, is a human. This shared
humanness and thus the shared
aspiration of gaining happiness and
avoiding suffering as well as the basic
right to bring these about, are
of prime importance.
不論人種, 教義, 意識型態,
西方或東方的政策聯盟,
或是南半球與北半球的經濟體系,
對所有的人來說,
最重要也是最基本的認知
就在於每個人都有的人性 –
是老是少, 是富是貧,
受過教育, 或沒受過教育,
是男是女, 到頭來, 人就是人.
這共有的人性, 包含了追求快樂,
避免痛苦的渴望, 而追求這些
目標的基本人權, 是最重要的.
