From one point of view

we can say that we have

human bodies and are practicing

the Buddha’s teaching and are thus

much better than insects. But from

another view we can say that insects

are very innocent and free from guile,

whereas we often lie and misrepresent

ourselves in devious ways in order to

achieve out ends or better ourselves.

From this perspective, we are

much worse than insects, who just

go about their business

without pretending

to be anything.

以某個觀點來說,

我們以人身來實踐佛陀的教誨

遠比昆蟲容易. 但從另一個角度來看,

昆蟲單純不耍奸滑,

不像我們迂迴的以說謊,

不實的言語表現自己

來達到目的, 或從中獲益.

從這個角度看來, 我們比昆蟲糟多了,

牠們只是忙著做自己的事,

無需假裝成任何東西.
