In most cases the affirmation of the

ego leads only to disappointment, or

else to conflict with other egos just as

exclusive as mine – especially when

the strong development of the ego leads

to whims and demands. The illusion of

the permanent self secretes a danger

that lies in wait for all of us: I want

this, I want that. You might end up

killing someone, as we all know well.

The excess of egoism leads to

uncontrollable perversions, which

always end badly. But from another

standpoint, a firm ego, sure of itself, can

be a very positive element. You have

to have real confidence

in yourself.

或是與其他特立獨行的自我相牴觸 –

引起的許多妄想和需求.

自我永存的幻象中暗藏著危機,

埋伏等待著我們每一個人:

我們也都知道, 最後你可能會動手殺人.

自我主義過度膨脹下會產生無法控制的扭曲,

總導致不好的結果.

但從另一個觀點來看,

堅定的自我,相信自己,

可以是非常正面的要素.

你必須對自己有真正的信心.
