To be angry at hearing other people

speaking highly of one’s enemies is

totally inappropriate, because at least

in the mind of the person who is

praising this enemy, there is some

sense of fulfillment, some satisfaction.

That person is doing so because he or

she feels joyous and happy, and one

should rejoice in that because one’s

enemy has caused someone to be

satisfied. If possible one should also join

in the praise rather than trying to

obstruct it.

因為聽到自己的敵人被讚美而生氣

是非常不恰當的,

因為對於發出讚美的人而言,

此時會產生某種完整的滿足感,

會這樣做, 此人必定是感到高興愉快,

所以我們應該同感高興,

因為我們的敵人造成了某個人的滿足感.

如果可能的話, 與其阻止,

我們倒不如加入這個讚美的行列.
