Sweet and Sour Chicken

Serves 4 to 6

Ingredients

The Chicken

4 boneless chicken breast's, cut in cubes

3 tablespoons Sesame Oil

3 tablespoons Olive Oil

1 teaspoon garlic salt

1 teaspoon onion salt

1 teaspoon pepper

dash cayenne pepper

1-1/2 cups cornstarch

3 eggs, beaten

1/4 cup water

Sweet and Sour Sauce

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups sugar

3/4 cup ketchup

1 cup rice vinegar

2 teaspoon garlic salt

2 teaspoons lite sodium soy sauce

Directions

Prepare the sauce

In a small bowl mix the sugar, ketchup, rice vinegar, garlic salt, and lite sodium soy sauce mix until blended well

Set aside

Prepare the chicken

Make sure that your cubed chicken has been washed and dried

Mix the garlic salt, onion salt and peppers together, then season the chicken with the mix making sure that the chicken is covered on all sides

Next cover all the chicken with the corn starch using a generous amont

Mix the beaten eggs with 1/4 cup water

Next dip the covered chicken in the egg mixture

In a hot wok or skillet add the oils

Add the chicken, cook on medium heat just until the chicken is lightly browned, remove from the oil to a paper towel and drain well

Place the drained chicken onto a 9X13 oiled baking sheet

Using 1/2 of the sauce, drizzle the sauce over the chicken

Bake uncovered in a preheated 325 degree oven for 45 minutes

Turn the chicken at least twice during the baking process

Serve the chicken with your favorite rice and the other half of the sauce on the side
