Pear Crisp With Walnut Crumble

Ingredients

Filling

6 to 8 Bosc Pears, peeled, cored, chopped

1 tablespoon lemon juice

6 tablespoons orange juice

1/2 cup sugar

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

1/4 cup flour

3 tablespoons unsalted butter

Crumble

1 cup all purpose flour

1/2 cup dark brown sugar, packed

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup walnuts, chopped

Directions

Prepare the crumble and set aside.

In a medium mixing bowl, stir together the flour, brown sugar, salt and cinnamon.

Add the softened butter in tiny pieces.

With a fork, mix the butter with the flour mixture until it is fine crumbles.

Stir in the walnuts, and leave the mix real loose.

Set the crumble aside.

In a large mixing bowl, gently toss the chopped pears with the lemon juice, and orange juice.

In a small bowl, mix the sugar cinnamon, nutmeg and flour together.

Toss the pears in the sugar and flour mixture.

Pour the pears into a sprayed 2 quart baking dish.

Add the 3 tablespoons of butter in small pieces to the top of the fruit.

Last, add the crumble to the top of the fruit.

Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes or until golden brown on top.

Garnish with ice cream, or whipping cream.

Serve warm.
