Nana's Snickerdoodles

1/2 cup shortening

1/2 cup butter at room temperature

1 1/2 cups sugar

2 eggs

2 3/4 cups sifted flour

2 tsp cream of tartar

1 tsp soda

1/4 tsp salt

Cream sugar, shortening and butter. Add beaten eggs one at a time. Stir in dry ingredients. Mix well

With 1 teaspoon of the dough, roll into a small ball.Roll the little dough ball's in a mixture of 1 part sugar and 1 part cinnamon.

Place the small ball's 2 inches apart on an un-greased cookie sheet do not flatten the dough ball.

Bake at 400 degrees 8 to 10 minutes, do not over bake or they will be to hard.

Remove from the oven and cool on a cooling rack.

These cookies freeze well for up to 3 months.
