Sour Cream Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

Cake

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 cup powdered cocoa

1 cup sour cream

2 eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 2/3 cups all purpose flour

1/2 cup hot water

1 teaspoon baking soda

Frosting

2 (7 ounce) jars marshmallow cream

2 (8 ounce) containers whipped topping

Directions

Mix the sugar, cocoa and sour cream until completely smooth.

Add the eggs one at a time and then add the vanilla, mixing until completely blended.

Add the soda to the hot water and make sure the soda begins to dissolve.

Alternating the flour and soda water, mix into the sour cream mix. Mix until the batter is completely blended.

This is a very dense batter.

Pour the batter into a butter and floured 2- 8 or 9 inch cake baking pans.

Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.

Remove the cakes from the oven and let cool until completely cool before frosting.

To Frost:

Mix the marshmallow cream and the whipped topping until completely smooth.

Frost the cake.

Refrigerate after serving.
