Old Fashioned Peach Crisp

Ingredients

6 to 8 medium size peaches,skinned & sliced

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1/8 teaspoon nutmeg

1/8 teaspoon allspice

dash salt

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

For The Topping

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 cup old fashioned rolled oats

1/2 dark brown sugar

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1/8 teaspoon all-spice

pinch salt

1/3 cup cold unsalted butter, in small cubes

Directions

Remove the skin of the peaches with a hot water bath, then plunge into ice water and the skin will slip right off.

Remove the peach seeds and slice the peaches. Place the peach slices in a mixing bowl.

Sprinkle the sugar over the peaches and set aside.

While the peaches are sitting, make the topping.

In a mixing bowl, stir in the flour, baking powder, rolled oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, all-spice and salt mixing together.

Add the cold butter cubes and blend with the flour mixture, until there are pea like balls in the mix.

Add the cinnamon, nutmeg, all-spice, salt and flour to the peaches.

Pour the peaches into a 8 X 8 baking dish.

Sprinkle the topping over the peaches.

Bake in a 375 degree oven for 30 minutes.

Serve warm with fresh cream or ice cream.
