Salsa Pork Chop Skillet

Ingredients

4 Center Cut Bone In Pork Chops

1 tablespoon cumin

1 teaspoon chili powder

1/2 teaspoon oregano

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon pepper

1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 cups salsa, your favorite

1/2 cup water.

2 cups mixed Cheddar and Monterrey Jack Cheese, Grated

Garnish

Fresh Cilantro

Directions

In a small bowl, mix together the cumin, chili powder, oregano, garlic powder, salt, pepper, cayenne pepper.

Rub the chops on all sides with the season mix.

Pour the olive oil in a heavy skillet that has a lid. Heat the oil until it is hot.

Sear the seasoned pork chops in the hot oil.

When the chops have been seared on both sides, divide the salsa and top the chops, then add 1/2 cup water to the skillet.

Place the lid on the skillet and cook on medium low for 20 minutes.

Remove the lid and divide the cheese and place it on top of the chops.

Place the lid back on the skillet and remove the skillet from the heat.

Let the lid remain and the skillet sit for 10 minutes.

Serve in the skillet or plate on a serving platter.

Garnish with fresh cilantro.
