Ingredients

4 cups granulated sugar

4 cups water

10 whole cloves

1-1/2 ounce loose tea

2-3/4 quarts water

1-1/2 cups lemon juice

2 cups orange juice

1 (48 ounce) can pineapple juice or apple cider

Zest of 2 lemons

2 teaspoons cinnamon

1 teaspoon all-spice

1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

Orange slices, thin

Directions

In a large stock pan, over medium heat, mix and dissolve the sugar and water.

In a seperate medium sauce pan, add 1 quart of water, whole cloves and the loose tea. Boil the mixture for 3 minutes. Place a lid on the sauce pan, remove from heat and let set for 5 minutes.

Strain the tea mixture into the water and sugar which is hot and dissolved.

Add 1-3/4 quarts of water and mix well.

Add the fresh lemon juice, 2 cups fresh orange juice and the pineapple juice or apple cider then mix well.

Add the cinnamon, all-spice, and nutmeg, then mix well.

Bring the mixture to a very high heat and when it is just about to boil, place a lid on the punch and reduce the heat to simmer.

If you are going to use a slow cooker for serving, transfer the punch at this point.

Garnish with orange slices and lemon zest.

Serve warm.

Recipe Tip:

The punch will stay on simmer for about 6 hours, without cooking to long.

The punch can stay in the refrigerator for about 2 weeks.
