2 cups half and half

Salt and Pepper to taste

For The Mash

6 to 8 large white Irish potatoes, peeled and chopped large

4 tablespoons butter

1/2 cup milk or half and half

Directions

In a heavy dutch oven pot, heat the oil and brown the Bratwurst. Remove the Bratwurst to a holding plate.

Place the sliced onions into the pot and saute them in the Bratwurst oil.

After the onions start to caramelize then add the apple juice.

Add the Bratwurst back to the pot and cook on medium low for 15 minutes.

While the Bratwurst and onions are cooking, prepare the sauce.

In a sauce pan, heat the butter and blend the flour into the melted butter, cook until just before the flour starts to brown.

Add the milk or half and half, stirring until completely smooth.

Add the smooth sauce into the pot with the Bratwurst and onions, stirring well, continue to cook, the mixture will begin to thicken.

Place the heat on low and cook for another 15 minutes, then simmer until ready to serve.

For The Mashed Potatoes

Place the peeled large chopped potatoes into a large stew pot.

Cover the potatoes with water and salt well.

Boil the potatoes until they are tender, then drain the water.

Add the butter and milk or half and half to the mix.

Mix with an electric mixer until completely smooth, add more milk if needed.

Salt and Pepper to taste.

Serve the Bangers and Onion Gravy on top of the Mashed Potatoes.

Enjoy!
