Slow Cooker Smothered Steak

Serves 4 to 6

Ingredients

4 to 6 small tenderized round or cube steaks

1/2 cup flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 teaspoons pepper

2 large onions, sliced thick

1 (10-1/2 ounce) can cream of celery soup

1 (10-1/2 ounce) can cream of chicken soup

3/4 cup water

1 packet Lipton Onion Soup Mix

Fresh parsley for garnish

Directions

On a plate, mix together the flour, salt and pepper.

One at a time lightly dust the steaks with the flour mixture, making sure to dust well.

Place the flour dusted steaks in the bottom of the slow cooker.

Place the thick sliced onions on top of the steaks.

In a mixing pitcher whisk together the celery soup, chicken soup, and water.

Pour the soup mixture over the onions, making sure to cover the onions well.

Finally sprinkle the dry onion soup mix over the top of the liquid on the onions.

Place the lid on the cooker.

Cook on low for 6 hours or on high for 4 hours.

Serve on rice or mashed potatoes and garnish with fresh parsley.
