Slow Cooker Meatloaf

Ingredients

2 pounds ground chuck

2 slices day old bread, cubed

1/4 milk

1 egg

1 onion, chopped fine

1 green bell pepper, chopped fine

1 green bell pepper, sliced

3/4 cup celery, chopped fine

2 tablespoons dried basil

1 tablespoon dried parsley

1 teaspoon garlic salt

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon pepper

1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Ketchup for topping and garnish

Directions

In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the egg and milk, then add the cubed bread. Let the bread soak and mix until smooth.

In a large mixing bowl, mix the ground chuck, onion, chopped bell pepper, celery, dried basil, dried parsley, garlic salt, salt, pepper and cayenne.

Add the moist bread and mix well until the seasons, bread and meat are completely mixed.

Place into the preheated slow cooker and form into a loaf.

Garnish the top with Ketchup and place the bell pepper slices on top.

Cook on high for 2 hours and low for 5 hours.

Option: Cook on high for 1 hour and low for 7 to 8 hours.

Remove from the slow cooker to a serving platter.

Garnish with Ketchup and fresh parsley.
