1 pound ground chuck

1 yellow onion, chopped fine

3 cloves garlic,minced

1/2 teaspoon pepper flakes

1 tablespoon oregano

2 teaspoons dried Sweet Basil

Sweet Basil Pasta Sauce (24 Ounce) Jar (I am not being compensated for telling you that I used Classico Pasta Sauce, I just like it)

3 cups mixed Italian Cheese

Directions

Clean and cut the peppers in half, then set aside.

In a large mixing bowl, mix together the sausage, ground chuck, onion, garlic, bread crumbs, worchestershire, egg, salt, pepper, pepper flakes, oregano and dried sweet basil. Mix until completely combined.

Line a shallow baking sheet with foil paper.

Place the peppes that have been cut in half on the baking sheet.

Stuff the meat and sausage mixture into the pepper halves.

Pour about 1/4 cup of the pasta sauce on top of the peppers.

Place in a 350 degree oven and bake for 30 to 40 minutes.

Remove the peppers from the oven and sprinkle the cheese on top of the peppers.

Return the peppers to the oven and cook another 10 to 12 minutes or until the cheese is melted.

To serve pour some of the pasta sauce in the bottom of the serving dish and place the peppers on top of the sauce.

Serve hot and enjoy!

Tip:

The peppers can be frozen for up to 2 months.
