R’velt Parc progress from 72nd St. and B’way (6206).

Roosevelt Ave. (6207–09). Meeting X. M. at 61st St. sta. (See Facebook messages.)

Date with X. M. in Woodside (6210–48). He stopped in a convenience store on Roosevelt Ave. for a sugary drink. D’boy Pk. (6210–14). W’müller Pk. (6215–30). D’boy Pk. again, including 1923 statue by Burt Johnson, and “Garden of Heroes” (6231–38). Sohncke Sq. (6239–41). Wall, 57th St., side of 57‒04 Woodside Ave. (6242–44). Vietnam veterans memorial, Woodside Ave. and 57th St. (6245–48). He made the rather abrupt decision to enter a card shop on Woodside Ave. to purchase a small padlock of all things and engage the Korean owners in conversation. In K’cha, Roosevelt Ave., he told me that stomach issues prevent his ever eating more than small amounts; nevertheless, I gave him some of my brochette, while he offered me absolutely not any of his food, requested some more of mine (specifically half of the portion remaining at the time), and then ate most of my tuber and namesake toasted corn because I wanted only the tiniest tastes of them.

61st St. Brief visit to SA thrift shop. Handwritten sign about flowers at 61 St. Manor (6249–50).

35th Ave. (6251–53). Police (6251). Traditionally dressed boys with sporting gear (6252–53).

37th Ave. F’town’s baskets of meat and cheese from the deli counter were empty. Was that J’ff O. standing right outside talking to an old bench crowd? Turkey Franks, tuna salad, antipasto salad, bag salad and cheese ends from FD (22:27). A hello in passing from R. S. A huge transsexual was there as a customer along with an apparently male companion with feminine breasts. Another customer must have been stinky because cashier Évelyn sprayed the air between lanes. When a motorist made a very poor decision and then passed between us, a traditionally dressed S. Asian woman and I shared a moment looking in one another’s faces in disbelief.
