Two friggin’ pounds of peanuts from SM.

“Radgrap” sign at Mini বাংলাদেশ Grocery, 37th Ave. (8076–77).

82nd St. Young smiling man with braces (8078–79). Construction vehicle in motion (8080).

Walked to EHC just to ask some questions, but it was an excuse to eat at my favorite post‐hospital buffet. (See iPhone notes.)

Beforehand though, I stopped in Sam and saw exactly the quadrille‐ruled book I wanted to buy but didn’t have my cloth shopping bag, so I asked a worker when they would close because I might want to return later therefor. Our conversation went something like this: “How late are we open?” “What kind of pen?” “How late are we open?” “We open nine o’clock every day.” “What time do we close?” “We close at eight‐thirty.”

Unfortunately, there were two screaming children in the upstairs dining room at MNC but there were also some relatively interesting other persons to watch, including a Buddhist monk. (See the food log.) And my old friend JvB’s face appeared on the large television screen when he made a statement to the news.

37th Ave. I stopped into GCS to browse but their prices are much too high. I would not buy anything there wherefor I could not find a reasonable substitute elsewhere, but I did see their cute handwritten sign about “creative metireals” (8081). Pretty sunset (8082–85). Absolutely unsuccessful in documenting the gorgeous pizzeria worker (8086–89) who was walking out to the delivery bike. In order to display it on the shallow window ledge, DR positioned a stuffed bear in a split (8090–91).

Because I was back in my neighborhood to get my shopping bag, it made more sense to me to shop in closer discount shops than walk back to Sam. I did a tour of four of them, which either didn’t have graph paper bound the way I wanted (card‐bound and stitched through the folds like a composition book) or were charging more ($1.30–$1.50) than Sam, so I ultimately did walk back to 82nd St. to snag it for $1.10 plus tax. Obviously, the price difference wasn’t truly a concern; it was more of a game and an excuse to walk, get some exercise, watch people, see attractive men, take some photos etc. Shoe‐store worker (8092). Store with closing gate (8093). Workers putting out discards (8094).

After too many peanuts and too much food at MNC, I decided I nevertheless needed strawberries from 🍋F. The cute dark‐hair Türk always greets me with a big smile so I felt good finally entering the store and purchasing something as well as singing to the Yuletide music playing. Dogs in front of FD (8095).

I went to FD for cheese ends, blueberries and sour cream. S’eed was coincidentally walking towards me as I entered and I tried to smile, but I was distracted looking for the taxi driver I had seen leave his headlights on before entering. When I informed him, he tapped his head to suggest something was wrong with it and left the supermarket. Later, we passed one another in an aisle and he thanked me. S’eed looked gorgeous that night but seemed to be doing his utmost to ignore me. He was smiling and laughing in a very lively Bengali conversation with the cashier as I checked out (23:07).
