Northern Blvd. Stopped into Michaels (8685) and saw a young artist I wanted to approach and ask about whether he publishes his work online.

While I was shopping at 💲🌳, I heard shouts from the other side of the store saying that an old lady had fallen, cut her head and needed an ambulance (8686–92). Workers and other customers were obstructing my view of the event, but what I gathered from overhearing others is that she was unsteady and using a walker but that her daughter had left her alone in the store anyway. An overhead page for Claudette yielded no results and the rear part of the aisle was closed and blocked with chairs as some people helped her. The manager was very loudly calling 911 and was uncooperative with them. They were apparently asking her numerous questions and she refused to respond to what she called their “survey.” When I was checking out later, the lady in front of me was losing her grip on one of the multiple items she was carrying in her arms without any basket, and so I helped return it to a better position in her hand. We began chatting and didn’t mention the earlier accident. She was friendly but frankly I wasn’t impressed: She was too concerned with how far the line she had left was advancing compared to ours, was convinced there were items for sale that cost more than a dollar if marked so, and found it amusing to gripe that the store shouldn’t sell items from more than one upcoming holiday at a time. (Valentine’s, Mardi Gras, St. Patrick’s and even Easter items were all on sale in different aisles.) I compared her line talk to calling a horse race: Lane three is in the lead, but lane five is … etc.

B’way (8693–95). Failed attempt to photograph man noisily working (8693). Sikh temple (8694). As I was walking, I saw a jeep cross B’way with a large US flag hanging diagonally from the rear and was a little disappointed I couldn’t photograph it. When I saw it was coming back in the opposite direction, I started recording a video (8695) not realizing it was انور, who shouted a greeting and slowed down to chat for a moment or two!
