37th Ave. Saw the smiling اپنا بازار cashier as I passed. Encountered M’cus W. and we hugged and bigly smiled and were very pleased to see one another but had little to say. Salami, egg salad and cheese ends from FD (22:39). The newer, taller deli guy was behind the counter and has been there two months, so it seems likely S’eed is not on vacation but no longer works there. There was a cute short S. Asian worker there (a stock boy?) whom I’m pretty sure I’ve seen before, and I was thinking how he has a similar body type to S’eed but with rounded features and a nicer smile (at least insofar as I’ve so rarely seen S’eed smile).
🎃 I hope you enjoyed your Halloween. Although it was early in October (the eighth to be exact), NYBD held their Halloween event last month. Thanks to all our participants, including our Chuck O. for staffing the food table and bringing his own spaghetti and rice‐and‐bean dishes, our Jon R. for baking great homemade brownies, our Colin Mack. for bringing so many hot delicious samosas, our Mike C. for organizing particularly loud, rousing gameplay based on Hollywood Squares and Match Game that included his leaving his seat to kiss a player, our Claude A. for making such a substantial donation, and all those who attended in costume. As if it were trick‐or‐treat booty, we of course had plenty of sweets, like marshmallow cookies, butter cake, pumpkin loaf, glazed doughnuts and breakfast treats. We even had guest appearances by Krampus and some unidentified lady in a velvet dress who was serving food. I encourage all the local bears and admirers thereof to attend in November and help make another fun event. 🐻😄
