Walk to thrift shop block. Indian summer with a high temperature in the 80s.

72nd St. (7355–61): worker on very tall ladder (7355–59), cute neighbor who greeted me (7360–61). Have we met before?

35th Ave. (7362–65): seated skateboarder (7362), attempt to photograph gardening woman (7363–65).

61st St. (7366–93): façade work at Korean church (7366–77), dog (7381–84), rooftop worker (7385–88), animal sculpture lineup (7389), Jack o’ lantern house (7390–91).

Ωmega is tremendous and unreasonably expensive but I saw unused hiking shoes in my size that might make good winter shoes. Filipina owner complimented my handwoven Irish waistcoat. Left to use a nearby a.t.m.

Went to SA shop (7394–7402) and found much much lower prices; however, there were no good winter shoes that would fit me, least of all unused ones, finding skinny jeans in my exact size was too much of an undertaking, and the shirts were unimpressive. Furniture inspection (7398), jacket inspection (7401), shopping cart of paintings (7402). Books are probably the last thing I should buy when I’m trying to get rid of books I already own, but the tremendous Vampire Book, with much p.d. information, was only two dollars, Polyamory in the Twenty‐First Century was supposed to be $1.90 based on the cover price but the cashier instead based the discounted price on a sticker thereon from when it had been resold used and thus sold it to me for only ten cents, and I found an absolutely blank (but ruled) HRC notebook for a dollar labeled “steering committee member” on the cover.

Returned to Ωmega (7403) to try on and purchase the hiking shoes for thirty dollars.

S. Asian women on 61st St. (7404–05). Photos of the sky (7406–09) at B’way and 64th St.

That same cute neighbor was standing on the stairwell as I reëntered our building.

Bought leftovers (the last of the chopped liver, about a quarter of a pound, and very nearly the last of the tiny hunk of roast pork) from the F’town deli counter. The chunky gay‐looking worker with the blond streak was roaming around. (I forgot to document that the last time I was there and noticed him, he embraced a female fellow employee.) Cashier Yamilka was very nice and placed my purchases in my own bag. They were out of rôtisserie chickens so I went to FD.

FD was also out of them, but I saw the tall worker and what may have been short S’eed at the high deli counter (where I had first noticed him when it was Global). I forgot to check in at OAC (7410–11) because it was so close to their closing time but I finally got my chicken. “Please pick up after yourselfs [sic]” (7410), Halloween decoration, “juicy tips” (7411).

Had to stop in DR just to look at the tall fit (new?) Latin cashier. There were actually many attractive men on the streets but it was nighttime and my smartphone was charging in my waistcoat pocket.
