I went to my primary care physician’s office, although I didn’t actually see him, for (1) a new referral for for my next visit to the oral surgeon next month, (2) treatment of the splinter in my right heel over a week now from my bedroom floor, and (3) treatment of the right knee pain that hasn’t gone away after nearly a year (since last summer, I believe) and which I mistakenly thought was part of my sciatica. The front desk clerk complained that it shouldn’t be their responsibility to get repeated oral surgery authorizations but the hospital’s, and I’m inclined to agree. {At my primary care physician’s office both for surgery‐related paperwork and newer leg/foot issues.}

Nearly empty waiting room when I arrived and while I waited.

The physician’s associate momentarily lost the syringe she was using to pick skin away. She found minute wood fragments and some discharge but no big splinter as I’d thought she would. She gave me an x‐ray referral and prescriptions as well as a bunch of plastic bandage strips and the remaining ointment in the packet.

The waiting room was very crowded, standing room only, on my way out, so I stood while waiting for my completed x‐ray referral. It had begun to lightly rain while I was there too.

I walked home, to the drug store, back home and then back to the drug store, all the while avoiding the construction work at 7115 37th Ave. I had to check the clearance aisle while in DR and was amazed to find a discount novelty Ḥanukka sweet (Rite Lite Chanukah milk chocolate lollipop). Even at half price (a dollar and a half for one ounce) it was still much too much money, especially when at least half of a year old. (The three‐dollar price was probably for a full box of twenty‐four, so I probably should have only paid seven cents for my one pop.) I saw my Filipino(?) pharmacy worker friend there and we greeted one another, although he didn’t serve me. {Picking up prescriptions, and shockingly finding discount Hanukka chocolate.}
