Dream

I was in an office building of some kind, and there was some sort of great threat although I couldn’t articulate what it was. There was a meeting down the hallway—and in the hallway, not in one of the rooms—at which some important person tried to allay people’s fears, but I could see that the audience didn’t stay in their seats long. Their concern for their own wellbeing, and possibly also the sounds of gunshots in the distance, led them to leave their seats to find safety. There were people moving about the hallways, and I wanted to leave, still not entirely certain what the nature of the threat was. I saw an exit with glass doors and wondered if it were that easy to extricate myself from the situation, so I left and found myself in a parking lot, but some of the people in the parking lot and the associated shopping center were similarly agitated. Although most were acting reasonably, small groups of people were running and fleeing although not in any great panic. Still unaware of how little I understood the nature of the threat, I tried to determine the best course of action: Should I flee like the others, when the very act of fleeing might somehow put us in greater danger, or should I return to the building, where the threat, which by then I seemed to understand was a single being rather than a group of people like a militia, would for some reason be less likely to find me, possibly because most everyone else had already left? I decided to hide in the building I had previously determined to be so dangerous and sat down and started reading a book. Shortly thereafter, a real bear entered the room and I wondered if it would leave me alone or kill me. I soon realized however it was actually a man in a bear suit and we started to pose together while he took selfies with me in them.

As the dream continued, I was learning more about this previous threat but it may have been from watching television. Some criminal was stealing very large telescopes that were supposedly very commonly owned by consumers in that part of the US. A young L. Carter with eyeglasses and a D. Prince ponytail was on the case but found herself for whatever reason unable to stop the most recent theft. One of the telescopes was in a truck near her on a busy road and she seemed frustrated she wasn’t able to do anything about it. As the truck and other vehicles started moving, she began walking as well as she could amidst the traffic toward the side of the road.
