37th Ave. Good thing I got the building key the day before because the front doors were indeed locked when I approached, and so I unlocked them while a man seated nearby watched me. Not only did I buy ice and half‐and‐half at F’town but two rôtisserie chickens in an attempt to use more NYBD money to make the events more enjoyable. When I returned, Chuck was surprisingly early and already upstairs in QPH with M’rc K. and Al’x G. I went back home to get the new cash box and the previously purchased supplies. NYBD at QPH. I put the blue plastic covers on the tables to recall the ocean or sea and placed the balls, lei and miniature maracas thereon. The event was rather poorly attended but a large percentage of attendees (ten of fifteen) dressed to theme in what might perhaps be considered beachwear or some approximation of swimwear. I wore a bit of a flouncy summery top and the black‐and‐white striped shorts I’d recently purchased as house shorts. Did I neglect to give Mike C. a raffle ticket? I took no photos and I don’t recall anyone else taking any. Chuck got Al’x to cut the chickens, and his bare chest and long hair made me wonder how sanitary it was. Frankly, the scantily clad bodies were unappealing and the occasional gluteal clefts even more so. A’ny rationalized asking to pay only four dollars because he would leave early. There were plenty of volunteers and helpers. Aus. Mike brought vegetarian nuggets (probably made with soy) and wore a true budgie smuggler. As usual, Cl’de A. and John P. donated funds in excess of their admission fees. I got annoyed when D’ve F. and J’n badmouthed our president but I just ignored them. J’n brought a flan that was good but too sweet. I noted that Bob has a palindromic name and that Cl’de has a palindromic age (seventy‐seven). Of course I shouldn’t have indulged in pasta, rice and sweets but did so anyway, and actually I should have been fasting. I filled my reusable shopping bag with plenty of NYBD’s disposable plates, napkins and cutlery to store at home rather than on the premises, and I carried them home after locking up not only QPH but the Alliance Bldg. as well. One of the S. Asians seen on the avenue who was dressed up for عيد reminded me of মিঠুন.
