Hot deliveryman from local Thai restaurant K79 entering the building as I left. Young man on 64th St. walking with his package slung over his shoulder (6288–89); smiling, gesturing, possibly‐gay man (6290–91).

I went to DT, Queens Blvd., when I shouldn’t have. The one item I wanted and that I’d bought there before—a set of elastic headbands that are flat and sash‐like and which I use to hold broken paperbound books together—was not there anymore, and I wound up buying a lot of carbohydrate‐laden crap: hot dog buns, fudge Graham cookies and chicken‐flavored crackers. However, I do not regret my purchase of the adorable “Solar Circus Hippo” decoration or the rinds. There was an attractive if stocky stock worker (6292–94) there who was arranging greeting cards, and a fairly attractive customer (6051–52). I heard a man having a telephone conversation in Arabic. Cashier Mohanie was confused as to why I gave her twenty‐eight cents when the total ended in eighteen cents until I got the lovely dime rather than multiple coins that would include pennies.

– I seem to recall Robin Williams as starring in the movie version of Dr. Frostfire. No? (00:40)
