Shabbat.
(AM) Was on the E going home when midnight struck. I should have ridden with Veena on the 7 because the E was local too but had big delays, and we were stationery in stations for long periods, supposedly due to congestion.
January 2016 United States winter storm.
It snowed all day, and I could hear the superintendent outside periodically shoveling snow so it wouldn’t get too high on what would normally be his day off.
(PM) Tom R. phoned me about canceling the EHSQ meeting the following day. I told him about my progress contacting Katha. I mentioned that I was considering wearing my combat boots that I may not have worn since the 1990s {…}.
I was disappointed to learn that there may be an anti‐Israel propaganda movie (In the Image: Palestinian Women Capture the Occupation) (QWFF) in QWFF, but I’d need to investigate it.
I continued my fast day until 18:00. I ate from about 18:00 to 00:00.
I took dramatic snow and ice photos on my way to Jaks Corner after 23:00 for almonds and peanuts. The snow was quite high in places and it looked like it was easier to walk than drive. The streets (or at least 37th Avenue and 72nd and 73rdstreets) were empty of traffic. There was a confused old man in JC who was singing a tune with very deliberate enunciated “dee dee doo doo” syllables. English was clearly his first language but he didn’t seem to understand the worker’s responses to his questions, and he was walking around looking for an elusive bag he’d supposedly left somewhere although his singing suggested he wasn’t very worried about it. He even momentarily stepped outside and picked up a plastic bag in the snow and ascertained it wasn’t his.
As I approached the building roughly around 23:30, there was a man shoveling snow in front of it. I couldn’t really tell but I assumed it was the super and waved, although he saw me and didn’t acknowledge me at all.
